Growth Marketing Workshop · ONE Digital Tech Business Growth Programme 2025
Hosted by: Opportunity North East (ONE)
Date: Wednesday, 17 September 2025 · 1:00 – 4:00 pm
Location: ONE Tech Hub, Schoolhill, Aberdeen AB10 1JQ
About the workshop
Delivered as part of the ONE Digital Tech Business Growth Programme 2025, this workshop equips founders with the strategic foundations required to scale effectively. Rather than jumping straight into tactics, participants learn how to build clarity around customers, positioning, messaging, and growth priorities — the groundwork that prevents wasted time and budget later.
Led by Sid Kathirvel, Founder and Strategic Growth Partner at Unlock Growth, the session combines 25 years of strategic and practical experience with proven frameworks such as Jobs-to-Be-Done, April Dunford’s positioning methodology, growth experimentation, and elements of MIT’s Disciplined Entrepreneurship: 24 Steps.
The aim: help founders build a growth engine grounded in insight, alignment, and measurable progress.
What the session covered
- The role of brand strategy: What “brand” really means and how strategic clarity saves time, money, and confusion.
- Understanding customers: Introduction to customer interviews, insights, and mapping journeys from awareness to revenue.
- Positioning for differentiation: Applying positioning frameworks to define compelling value propositions and boilerplate messaging.
- North Star Metric and goal-setting: How to align teams around a single guiding metric and set measurable, actionable goals.
- Growth experimentation: How to design lean experiments, validate assumptions, and prioritise initiatives based on cost, effort, and impact.
- Working with external partners: Practical guidance for briefing and managing agencies and freelancers effectively.
About the programme
The ONE Digital Tech Business Growth Programme supports ambitious tech founders through expert-led workshops, one-to-one mentoring, and a robust roadmap based on the MIT 24 Steps of Disciplined Entrepreneurship. Participants gain clarity across customer discovery, decision-making units, enterprise sales, marketing, and investment readiness.
The programme also offers a valuable peer environment where founders share experiences, build networks, and accelerate each other’s growth.
